Masatoshi Koshiba (born on September 19, 1926 in Toyohashi, Aichi) is a Japanese physicist. In 2002, he jointly won the Nobel Prize in Physics \"for pioneering contributions to astrophysics, in particular for the detection of cosmic neutrinos\". (The other shares of that year\'s Prize were awarded to Raymond Davis Jr. & Riccardo Giacconi of the U.S.A.)
